My passion is helping adults have stronger, healthier relationships with others as well aswith themselves. It is a fundamental human need to feel close and more connected to the people in our lives. And how we relate to ourselves has a profound impact on every relationship we have. My clients, whether individuals or couples, are typically struggling with their relationships: relationships that never seem to work out, feeling disappointed and dissatisfied in their current relationship, or they are just not happy with themselves. They come to therapy because what they are doing is not working, but they’re not sure why. I believe that when you understand why you feel the way you do and act the way you do, you live a more directed life, make better choices, have healthier relationships and, as a result, can bypass a lot of pain. In our sessions we will be active. We will work together to help you gain the insight and tools to make the necessary changes in your life outside of sessions. I try to be the type of therapist that I would want to see, so you can expect a down-to-earth, straightforward approach and a sense of humor from me.

Engaged Listener: Much of the work we will do together will be to help you develop insight and awareness into yourself and your relationship needs. As we talk, I will be listening for patterns in order to identify ineffective behaviors, beliefs and habits. I will help you hear your inner dialogue and how you relate to yourself, which will increase your self-knowledge so you can then choose to act in ways that help support your life.
